Depicting the famous attack on the Italian fleet anchored at Taranto, where obselete Fleet Air arm bi-planes decimated the massed Italian fleet. This attack marked the accendency of marine aviation over naval guns.

Taking place over the night of the 11th and 12th of November 1940, this attack marked a change in naval warfare.

The print here is signed by both the artist Robert Taylor and Commander Charles Lamb, who piloted one of the 2 leading flare dropping aircraft, and later went on to pen the best selling book, To War in a Stringbag.
